Midori is a sweet, green-colored liqueur made by Suntory with melon flavors. It has an alcohol content of 20% by volume and is typically used in cocktails rather than consumed straight.

History

Originally released in 1964 in Japan as "Hermes Melon Liqueur", it was renamed "Midori" in 1978 when introduced to the US market. Production remained exclusive to Japan until 1987, after which Suntory began manufacturing it in several other countries.

How it is served

Due to its extreme sweetness, Midori is rarely served neat. It is commonly used in cocktails such as the Bob Marley, Quick Fuck, and Midori Sour. On this site, it can also be found in the Radioactive Long Island Iced Tea, Zimadori Zinger, and Bob Marley cocktails.
