Kindzmarauli is a red semi-sweet wine produced in Georgia's Alazani Valley since 1942. It is made from the Saperavi grape variety and has a natural sweetness without added sugar.

How it is made

Kindzmarauli is made from Saperavi grapes harvested with at least 22% sugar content, ensuring natural semi-sweetness without added sugar. The production technology is similar to that used for Khvanchkara since 1908.

Types and styles

Kindzmarauli is a monovarietal wine with color of overripe cherry or pomegranate, and a full, velvety taste with typical varietal bouquet. It has fresh aroma with varietal tones and notes of cherry pit and blackcurrant.

How it is served

Kindzmarauli is recommended to serve with desserts, fruits, and spicy sauces as it smooths out the spiciness of food. These naturally semi-sweet wines are not intended for long-term storage and should be consumed young.
