Kölsch is a top-fermented beer from Germany with an alcohol content of 4.8%. It has a slightly bitter flavor with noticeable hop notes.
How it is made
Kölsch is brewed according to the 'Kölsch-Konvention' which defines what beer can be called Kölsch. It is a top-fermented beer that reveals its full aroma when served at 8-10°C.
How it is served
Kölsch is traditionally served in special glasses called Kölner Stange with a capacity of 0.2 liters. Larger glasses of 0.3 or 0.4 liters are also becoming common. In traditional pubs, you can also find a half-sized portion called Stößchen in 0.1 liter glasses.
