Mary Pickford

Made with rum and Maraschino, served in a cocktail glass. An official cocktail of the International Bartenders Association (Unforgettables).

45 ml / 1 1/2 ozWhite rum
45 ml / 1 1/2 ozFresh pineapple juice
5 ml / 1/4 ozGrenadine
7.5 ml / 1/4 ozMaraschino liqueur

Method

  1. Add white rum, pineapple juice, grenadine, and maraschino liqueur to a shaker.
  2. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well.
  3. Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.

About the Mary Pickford

The Mary Pickford is a short drink with white rum and pineapple juice. The pineapple and maraschino liqueur give it a sweet, tart flavor.

History

The drink is named for the actress Mary Pickford. It was created for her in the 1920s, though research shows she did not visit Cuba at that time.
