About the Pegu Club

The Pegu Club is a short sour cocktail featuring gin as its base. It offers a balanced profile with citrusy lime and orange bitters creating a refreshing, acidic character with subtle herbal undertones from the Angostura bitters.

History

The Pegu Club originated as the signature drink of Burma's Pegu Club, a social establishment for British officials. First recorded in 1923, it experienced a major revival in the 2000s when Audrey Saunders opened a New York bar by the same name, which became influential in the craft cocktail movement.
