About the Grasshopper

The Grasshopper is a sweet dessert cocktail with a liqueur base. Its combination of mint, cocoa, and cream creates a creamy, chocolate-mint flavor profile. It is served as a chilled after-dinner drink.

History

Tujague's bar in New Orleans claims its owner Philip Guichet invented the Grasshopper in 1918. The drink gained popularity in the American South during the 1950s and 1960s.
