About the Cuba Libre

The Cuba Libre is a highball cocktail featuring rum as its base, combined with cola and lime juice. This simple yet refreshing drink offers a balanced sweet and tart flavor profile that has made it one of the world's most popular cocktails.

History

The Cuba Libre originated in Cuba in the early 1900s after Coca-Cola was first imported to the country. Its name, meaning 'Free Cuba,' reflects the Cuban independence movement following the Spanish-American War. The drink became popular due to its simple recipe and readily available ingredients.
