About the Tom Collins

The Tom Collins is a tall, refreshing sour cocktail with a gin base. It combines the botanical notes of gin with tart lemon sweetness and effervescent soda water, creating a balanced and crisp drink.

History

The Tom Collins was first published in Harry Johnson's 1882 Bartender's Manual, calling for Old Tom gin. It's a variant of the John Collins, with similar recipes dating back to the 1860s. The drink gained popularity in America and later spread internationally, though its origins became somewhat lost over time.
