About the Americano

The Americano is a refreshing sour cocktail with a base of red vermouth and red bitter, balanced by soda water. It offers a bitter, herbal character with citrus notes from the orange garnish. This drink is a lighter alternative to more potent cocktails while maintaining complex flavors.

History

The Americano originated at Caffè Campari in Milan in the 1860s. It evolved from the Milano-Torino cocktail, which combined Campari and vermouth without soda water. The Americano was created when an American customer requested a fizzer version of Campari, leading to the addition of vermouth and soda water.
