About the Rob Roy

The Rob Roy is a sour-style cocktail that combines Scotch whisky with vermouth and bitters. It offers a dry, robust character with a hint of herbal complexity from the vermouth and bitters.

History

Created in 1894 at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan, the Rob Roy was named after the Scottish folk hero and an operetta about him. It's similar to a Manhattan but made exclusively with Scotch whisky.
