About the Brandy Alexander

The Brandy Alexander is a rich, sweet dessert cocktail with a smooth, velvety texture. It combines the warmth of cognac with the chocolate notes of crème de cacao and the creaminess of light cream, creating an indulgent after-dinner drink.

History

The Brandy Alexander became popular in the early 20th century as a variation of an earlier gin-based cocktail called Alexander. Its origins are uncertain, with various theories suggesting it was named after different people including Alexander Woollcott, Russian tsar Alexander II, or bartender Troy Alexander. The cocktail has appeared in numerous films, television shows, and books, often associated with characters enjoying its sweet, creamy nature.
