About the Diki-diki Cocktail

The Diki-diki is a sour cocktail with calvados as its base. It combines apple brandy, Swedish punsch's sweet and sour notes, and grapefruit juice's tanginess for a balanced flavor profile.

History

Created by Belgian bartender Robert Vermiere in 1922, the Diki-diki was popular in London's American bar scene. Originally served in a 2:1:1 ratio, later versions favored a 4:1:1 proportion to emphasize the calvados. It's now commonly found in Tiki bars despite predating the Tiki craze.
