About the Penicillin

The Penicillin is a sour cocktail made with blended Scotch whisky, lemon juice, honey-ginger syrup, and a float of Islay single malt. It has a balanced sweet, sour, and smoky character with medicinal notes.

History

Created in 2005 by Australian bartender Sam Ross in New York. The name references penicillin, hinting at the medicinal properties of its ingredients similar to a hot toddy.
